Well, another weekend has come and gone. I got LOTS of shop time this weekend. Shoot....I had better since I was supposed to have the CD Cabinet done by today....but I didn't make it. I get to contact the customer today and let them know that it will be after Thanksgiving before I can get it finished and delivered. I think its going to be pretty though.....Luckily, my customer is a patient person. :)

So what did you do this weekend.? Any shop time?

Well Friday night I finished cutting up about 20 pen blanks, drilled up 16 of them.

Saturday I finished moving my dirt pile from the patio around for the most part, cleaned the last of the sand off the patio, and moved the chimnea onto the patio. Saturday night we had pizza on the patio in front of the fire! My kids loved it. Then I glued up 12 of the pen blanks.

Sunday was church and then the trip to Jim's. Had a great day, got lots of good ideas, but was just too tired to do anthing in the shop.

Have a great week everyone!

Mornin' Dennis,

I had a fair amount of shop time this weekend, too. Made progress on the tool chest I am building for my son's Xmas present. The case is glued up and all the drawer runners are installed in their sliding dovetails. I am ready to start cutting dovetails on the drawers.

Glad to hear the cd cabinet is nearing completion. Looking forward to seeing pix.

Have a great week all,
Bob

Working around necessary errands after being away for a week, I got most of the parts cut out and milled for the Shaker style wall clock for the kitchen and prepared the stiles and rails for some glass-front cabinet doors for final glue up on Saturday and later on Sunday. Noah and Tom stopped by for a visit on Sunday afternoon and it was a pleasant day, indeed.

Was able to get in some shop time this week-end. I finished the book case for my grand-daughter and built a roll-around cart for my clamps.

Now it's clean-up time in the shop again. :)

Did pretty good. Got the new kitchen island to the point where it needs just a few more coats of varnish on the table top, then move it to the kitchen and do final assembly.

It's modest work, mostly paint grade, no doors, but will be a useful addition. We designed this as a temporary piece, since we'll be doing a new kitchen next year, finances permitting.

I had a pretty good weekend. My house in in the midist of being repaired from the tree which visited during Hurricane Isabel. So my shop time is limited. I have to stop by the house and decide that the problems with the repairs can not be fixed by me while I am at the house. As such I tend to focus on quick projects at the lathe. So I am making some magic wands out of different woods and with potions in the wands. I am making "teacher" pens for my daughter to give as Christmas presents to her favorite teachers. And I am making some pens for me which I like to hold and write with.

Thanks

Woke up Saturday and the world was spinning. Vertigo had me in an iron grip until late in the day so I got nothing done. Thought perhaps a stroke but decided it is more than likely an inner ear problem since my hearing in the left ear has all but gone the past few weeks. Have an appointment with a specialist tomorrow to fnd out what gives. I did get started rushing a chair Sunday and have it mostly fnished. Waxed the cast iron tables Sunday also.
