My wife decided it is time to put new floors in the kitchen and dining room. I ordered some "commercial" grade oak. This is oak that comes with knots and wormholes and such imperfections. The idea is to create that "cottage" look (we have a Cape Cod style house). I will put it down and finish it. In keeping with the cottage theme I did not want to use poly as a finish. We want to stay away from the glossy finishes. My thought was to use an oil type finish or something. I was wondering what others have done that may be similar. TIA
