I have a shop vac with 3" hose, and a Makita router with 1-1/2" dust collection port. I went to a woodworking store and only found a "universal" adapter, which doesn't even fit(I think it steps from 1" to 2"). I guess my Makita router is not from this universe.

I adapt to a 1.5" hose about 6 feet long to take the large hose weight off of me first then . . .

etc., etc., etc.

P.s. Why is it that sanders, joiners, etc all have odd sizes anyway? Just empathizing.

I feel your pain.

I have a metabo 5 inch ROS. I have been looking for 1 and 1/2 inch hose with a 2 1/2 adaptor so I can use it with my Shop VAc

The closest thing I can find is a Rigid 1 1/4 hose iwth adapter that I can ram inside of the fitting for my ROS. It sort of works, but I'm giving up air volume. So it goes.

I got my adapters at Sears in the 'shop vac' accessories department.
