I have been meaning to post sooner but never enough time. I finally got the bugs worked out of my infills. I made enough mistakes on the metal parts. Well I guess I am no machinist and I have to learn to be one.
Ok so here we are the regular infill is 9” long 2.5” wide and about 4.5” tall the sides are 3/16” brass and the sole is ¼” steel. The sides and sole are dovetailed together and the wood is pinned and glued in place. This plane is cocobolo the iron is ¼” thick and about 6” long I am playing with putting the engine turning on the irons or not.
The second plane is 5” long 2” wide and about 3.5” tall in ebony the sides are 1/8” brass. The iron is 1.5” wide and the wood is ebony then the little guy is a bevel up plane with the iron bedded at 12 degrees a 1.5” iron and it is filled with African blackwood.

the 9" is 700 and the 5" two smaller oens are 300 depending on the woods used. I wanted to have affordable infills.

Wow I am in awe. Isn't a 1/4 inch iron though a bit of overkill, or over engineering?

Regardless Steve that has to be the best tool porn I have seen in a year, what are you doing next a jointer?

yes a bit 3/16" is about the max in usefull thickness. but it does make the iron easy to free hand sharpen and less warpage in heat treating.

no long planes they are not all that useful and a bear to make. a shooting plane and a cheaper 2" smoother is about all I can think of right now.

Steve,
Those are awesome. I may need to start saving my pennies for your 2in coming out. BTW my favorite planes to use are 2 I got off of you. A coffin smoother and a razzee jointer in purple heart.
