I am building two dressers and chests of drawers (wife gets one set , daughter the other). I need to make the legs (1 3/4 in. square by 55 inches long) using the 4 mitered sides with a solid core method. NEVER DONE IT THIS WAY BEFORE.

I have done a small 14 inch test using tape to get the pieces in place and clamps to tighten and hold them untill set. It worked well. I have seen tape used but I don't think this will work here because of the length and other factors. Remembering that the legs are only 1 3/4 inch square, is there any other method that out there that would work. I have thought of using straping but it would get stuck because of the small size of the legs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!:o

"any other method"

Strips from an inner tube about 1/2" wide. One truck tire size will give you enough to do a couple of legs at a time or a bit more. You might need a pressure strip about 1" down the middle to distribute the pressure there rather than all on the corners.
