I set out to plane up some walnut but having all sorts of problems. I havent had much of an issue on earlier projects white oak, maple etc.
First, I am getting alot of snipe marks across the boards second, boards getting stuck too much half way through. Third, alot of interupted cutting.

The boards are fairly flat. So maybe have been getting lucky on previous projects, being that I am a fairly new WW'er. I bought this planar used and have been happy with it to date.

Any ideas? The outfeed and infeed tables are flat against main bed.

thansk

By your desciption, it sounds like the knives are worn out (dull) and/or at different heights. Snipe is not found all over the finished board. Snipe is a uniformly deeper cut at the end of the board that occurs when the out feed is low or poorly supported. This model of planer can and will leave roughly 2" of snipe if improperly adjusted or poorly supported.
Also make sure the feed rollers are clean. Pine projects build up pitch on the feed rollers which causes all kinds of feedthrough problems. Good luck.
