This is a core I took out of about a 12 inch maple bowl blank. The finished size is about 8 inches in diameter. The finished is Tried and Tru BLO Beeswax blend.

My signing woes continue notice the year I put on the signature. All in all I am very happy with the piece. Comments and critques are appreciated.

Nice bowl Mike. That figure has so much going on...it's holding a conversation with itself! Gorgeous wood!

Wow...what a pretty piece Mike. Nicely done. I wouldn't worry about the year too much. I still fill out my checks that way and no one seems to care as long as the check is still good.

I like the touch of undercut on the inside rim. I do that a lot for bowls I expect will be passed hand to hand, like popcorn or chip bowls. Gives a bit of a "thumbhold" to control the bowl even with oily digits.

Great job Mike! I did the same thing in writing "06" on the yellowheart bowl I finished two weeks ago on New Year's Day. Funny thing is, I just noticed it this weekend. DOH! It'll be interesting trying to "fix" that.
