I need some advice from our august membership.
I am going to paint a motorcycle, tank, bikini fairing, rear cowl, two side panels and front fender. I've painted several cars and the painting process is no problem. However, I always used the paint booth and equipment at the military base I was stationed at and now they all seem to be closed because of EPA regularions. I need some advice on equipment. I have a 2 hp, 6 gal compressor--4.0 CFM at 40 psi. I saw a "touch up" gun advertised at Lowes that only needed 3.6 CFM at 45 PSI. Can I shoot a motorcycle with this setup or am I going to need a bigger compressor and better gun? The directions that came with the paint recommends a 1.4 mm gun and the touch up gun doesn't list the size.
