Peppermill from spalted, curly maple. 10" tall using a Woodcraft peppermill kit.
2 views of the same mill.

I always turn the top by itself like a giant pen and turn the body with a chuck expanded in the bottom hole and the tail stock pushed inside the top hole. Makes for a perfect fit and easy turning.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful peppermill Robert! That's really some major spalted wood! Really nice form and finish. Good job!

Very cool Robert! That looks like it's heavily spalted (beautiful by the way)...but I'm wondering, how was it to turn? Was it punky or prone to tearout?

That's a great looking peppermill Robert. I like the style, looks like you could get a good grip on it. Nice wood too.
