Ok here are the first things I have done on the new lathe. I just got to do some stuff tonight. I did mess up on the pencil. I left the clip off it. The 2 light colored pens are cypress and the dark one is mesquite. And the bottle stopper is mesquite.

The title is supposted to be "First ever turnings"

Bobby - those are some turnings to be proud of! Very nice pens and I have to imagine that the missing clip is no big deal!

Nice work! Don't worry too much about forgetting the clip on the pencil. I did about 75 pens before the holidays and sure as day I forgot a clip or two (more like 3 or 4). New rule, no assembling pens after midnight!

Nice work Bobby, all are looking good, as to forgetting the clip not an error just a design change.

Hi Bob,

Welcome to the deep end, we've been waiting for you. Check your wallet and sensibilities at the door. Great first turnings!

So you've fallen head first into the dark side huh fella! Welcome to the place where the leak in your wallet never gets plugged and there is always something new and better to learn. Good work on those first turnings. I like where you put some creativity into those shapes. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.:)
