New Compressor Question

Just got a new Makita MAC700 air compressor and have a question. When i got the compressor I set aside the air filter. The instructions never mentioned that I was to suppose to install it, so I completely forgot about it. I put the oil in and ran it for 30 minutes to break-in the motor. After that i realized the air filter wasn't installed. The hole for it had a plug in it, so I guess no air got in.

Did i do permanent damage?

It runs ok now, except for the regulator doesnt seem to do anything. I'm planning on calling Makita about that.

unless it was really dusty, probably not.
