Has anyone used a full face respirator? I use a cartrdge mask but the dust is starting to bother my eyes as well. Any ideas on which are the best and which I should avoid?

AO Safety Full Face Mask looks interesting, but it does not replace safety glasses does it?

We use these types of masks when working around eye and throat irritants at customer sites. A proper fit will not give you the ability to wear safety goggles, but the face shield provides adequate protection from small projectiles.

From my experience, these masks are very uncomforatable and tend to fog up something terrible if you sweat a lot. I would never wear one unless I absolutely had to.

Is this the one? 3M 6800PF Powerflow Powered Air Purifying Respirator.

Do you need to wear safety glasses underneath. It's expensive, but I presume you are happy with it right?

Hi Ralph,

No it is not the one you listed.

It is the AirStream 400. I oreded it from envirosafetyproducts.com. I think airware.com or airwareamerica.com was the other site I had looked at. You would not need to wear safety galsses with it unless you are required to, as the face shield can be raised. I can't see without glasses so I tend to have them on anyway.

I have been very happy with it. It has long battery life. The weight of the battery is down on your belt. It is very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

If you have questions about the different models the sales staff there was very knowledgeable and nice to deal with.

No affilation other than a happy customer.

If you look at the very long thread about the Trend I have along post of what I like about the AS400.
