Geez, your legs must get tired with all that floor space! My whole shop is crammed into a one car garage, and I can reach just about everything if I stand right in the middle.
Kidding aside, that looks like a really nice setup. Looking forward to seeing what you build in there!

Great benches (and shop)! Did you make those? What kind of wood did you use?

Very nice shop. I love your bench layout and your mitersaw table. Very well built. What size and brand jointer do you have. Looks like a 16". Also looks like you have a drum sander in the background. How is that working for you

WOW! Marc, I can't add much to what has already been said in this thread. You have a fantastic space with a wonderful shop. I'd love to have a space and set-up like that. BTW - I live close by in Simi Valley.

Thanks for the replies. It has been a lot of fun (and work) setting this shop up. It's still a work in progress, and so far my son and I haven't killed each other.
To answer some questions:
Yes that is a 16" Jointer, General International.
24" dual drum sander, also GI. It works great once it's set up properly. (same for the jointer)
The benches are shop made. Laminated Doug fir all around. 6" thick solid top, 6" sq legs flush with the sides. all M&T and pinned. They weigh around 400 lbs each, but we can bang the heck them and they are rock solid.
Thanks again, Marc

Marc, I think you've got a little room over on the left for a bench! :D Man I'd die if I had that kind of room, or even head room! Very nice shop. Jim.

I don't know, thinking it was looking like it was a little crowded in that shop, maybe if I came and got one of those "ole" benches you wouldn't be so crowded! grin Beautiful shop setup. Moving into a dedicated space this coming spring, love that table saw setup, have bookmarked it so I can use the picture for reference, think the major cause of kickback and cut off fingers comes from trying to save the piece or the leverage principle kicking in and it getting to heavy for consistent work. That is my opinion. But do really like what you posted, thanks for the saw station picture.

Marc, if your shop was nearby I'd apply for an apprenticeship. I would love to work in a shop like that.
