View Full Version : Where can I find pine in NE Indiana?

Does anyone know anyplace I can buy pine at a decent price in the NE Indiana area? I want to make a shoe rack that matches my bedroom set which is some form of pine. None of the sawmills I know around here carry pine, and the price at the borgs would literally cost more for fewer board feet than the quartersawn red oak I picked up last week.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cliff

Hi Cliff

Sorry I can't help you with the pine, but if you don't mind, where do you get your quartersawn oak :)

Kevin,

Look up Frank Miller Lumber in Union City - frankmiller.com. They specialize in quartersawn woods. They have an outlet store for retail sales. Call them and they'll fax you a price sheet. Union City is right on the Indiana-Ohio border about 60 miles south of Fort Wayne. Just picked up 25BF of 4/4, 5/4 & 8/4 Red Oak for 89.15. The lumber is smooth planed 4 sides. Not a finish planed surface, but will require much less work than rough cut.
