My friend Patty wants to know if I want to do a bazaar the weekend. She had signed up for Friday and Saturday and doesn’t want to do Saturday. Just last week I was saying I should have done a bazaar this year. As luck would have it I had just started putting stuff on the kitchen table for my daughter to pick up for an in house artist show in a couple weeks. I called Sandy and asked if she would help me with a sale Saturday half thinking she would say no. She said yes I think because of the amount of money I spent at the woodworking show last Saturday. Well I hope I have enough stuff for a sale.

This is just about everything I have that is ready for sale. There are 10 potpourri bowls, a couple of frogs, a lot of confetti lamps, several bowls, a few plates and things to be named later. Since taking the picture I have completed 4 pencils and 2 pens. Saturday is how many weeks away?

That supply should just about get you to lunch! :D :D

Maybe you should consider taking a small lathe for demo purposes just to keep up with the demand!

Great looking array!

Wow Dave that is quite a stash. I hope you do well at the Bazaar.

Do you have a mini? If so and the setting is right, it might be a cool idea to take it along.

Thanks for your kind comments. The bazaar is in a room with carpeting and I don't think it is a good place for producing shavings. I'll keep you posted on my progress this week.

Man that's some nice turning - I'm sure you'll do well.

Question for you Dave.
The tall "tulip" shaped bowl in the very back - 3rd in from the left- what would that sell for? I'm asking cause I'm donating a cherry one that looks like it to a Church silent auction this week & we're supposed to put an approximate value on it - I have no idea.

Sorry buddy couldn't resist. I really hope it does well for you. I was so nervous when I dontated my scrapbook, b/c I really wanted it to do well. I was pleased with what price it did bring, I hope you are happy as well.

If you did, you missed the parts about relative size and mass deformation. I haven't met Tom but I am confident he has at least 5" and 10 pounds on you.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your kind comments about my work. It is really hard to set value on turning pieces. The bowl you asked about is one of those that really looks better in person than in a picture.

The tall vase shaped bowl is 5" high and 8.5" wide at the rim. The small bowl to the right was cored from the larger bowl. It is 1.5" high and 5.5" at the rim. I have the two bowls priced as a set for $150. I picked up the wood at a Kirkland, IL sawmill tour a couple years ago. Ponders will remember the sawmill tours. It is hard maple and has considerable figure. Finished with several coats of Woodcraft urethane oil which was wiped dry for a satin smooth finish.

Remember that no one can argue with the price you set on the bowl. Setting a price and acctually getting it are two different things. Set the price high so the winner will feel good about winning it. Good luck.
