Hi guys,
I am looking for a bench top drill press.I like this grizzly but I think its a bit expensive with the shipping.Any one else have any suggestions?

I would see If you have a shop fox dealer near you. They have a drill press that looks just like it. The model is a W1669. I have the floor model just like it and it works fine.

that I paid more than $185 for and without the rack & pinion setup on ram and table. I'm not looking to sell this one but I wouldn't buy another one. The biggest problem is the lowest speed-500 RPM is a bit high for large forstner-type bits and fly cutters. The belt is long and rather prone to slipping, which can be a good thing if it prevents a cutter catch, I guess. I've thought about playing with a cheap 3 phase motor and VFD to address the speed issue. It seems like a fun tinker project. I don't really use the radial capability though if I were to try chair making I might. With the ram extended I suspect the head would be "floppy" for want of a better term. The Delta version is no longer made AFAIK.
