I was given this piece of wood to 'try out'. The plate/bowl ended up 7" x 1". I only got the one picture before it headed to another home....

Spar polyurethane. It's an indoor/outdoor poly.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I really enjoyed turning this bowl because I could tell it was going to have some nice figuring and grain from the beginning. I guess I could probably tone down my finish. I just got so used to using the spar to finish turkey calls it carried over to my bowls :confused:
