My Workshop

I just finished putting up a page on my website dedicated to my workshop. I know my shop is pretty basic with mostly entry level tools but, I'm just starting in the hobby and wanted to start out slow.

My landlord's father was a woodworker by trade and worked in this space for a number of years and I'm the first person to use it as a workshop in over 25 years.

All of my tools are either gifts from family or handed down from my father.

My first project is visible in some of the bench pictures, I realize it's not good, but I haven't done anything with woodworking since 1987 when I was in shop class in junior high.

I do have big plans though for future projects.

Welcome to SMC. I'm a beginner too and usually can't wait to see what everyone posts here. I hope you find wwing as pleasurable as the folks here do. The know how and expertise runs deep and everyone is helpful. The best way to keep us happy is with pics ! Good luck and happy sawdust. :)

I agree, there are a ton of old hand tools that are in those draws, some day I plan on going through them and seeing what I can use or just clean up and display.

The house was built in the 1850's and my landlords father kept all his records in a huge filing cabinet in the garage, looking back on what he paid his laborers in the 30's and 40's was fun to see. It was only a couple of dollars a week.

Looks like a very nice shop area. I, too, have a beginners shop area and the rule to follow is "Any shop is better than no shop". But, by the looks of things you may have jumped past the beginner shop and went straight into intermediate.
