My 6" jointer is in serious need of full tune-up. This is the one tool in my shop that I know the least about. Does anyone have a link for a nice cookbook-fashion (first step, second step, etc.) tutorial on tuning one of these up?

Fine Woodworking has some good articles on that. You may have to be a paying member to download them, but you can also buy them one at a time.
And yes, my jointer is tuned with sharp blades. :)
Also, someone who knows more than me may be able to help you right here.

"Tuning-up a Jointer" by John White. A Fine WoodWorking Video. Well worth the small cost. A Google search will turn up several places to purchase it.

It is quite interesting that you came up with the exact title.

Here is a good step by step manual for jointer tuneup, and it's free!
