Any of you who use an Incra jig for doing dovetails might be interested in this program. I just bought the "Incra Universal Precision Positioning Jig". Rockler had them on sale for $39.99 before Christmas.

The jig works nice but is somewhat limited since it can only make a limited number of different dovetail joints. The program allows you to make dovetails with different types of dovetail bits and different pin and tail layouts. It actually generates a new set of templates that are used with the jig. Each set of templates can be printed out and used to make the dovetail joint that you prefer.

The program can be downloaded from http://www.internetwoodworking.com/w5/dovetail.html

By the way the program is free.

I am not connected in any way to the makers of this software.

Ralph,
Thank you for that interesting link. I have downloaded the program and am going to try it out next week. Looking around I also found a bunch of CAD downloads I thought was interesting:

Hmmm...what material would you make the templates from?

This sounds like a job for the "photonic scrollsaw".

Ralph,
While searching the internet for information about the rockler/Incra jig I found your post. I was curious if the jig has other uses?

I have a recent copy of wood workers journal that show this jig on a router table they made. I was under the impression it was used for positioning the fence.

Have you used yours yet?

Thanks, Joe
