Hello from a new poster. This was my first attempt at some cabinets, I am hoping to start on my own kitchen cabinets shortly. This was a fun project, and I can't wait to get started on the big project.

That's all soft maple.

Thanks, it is all soft maple, and in a bathroom. most of the frame work is curly, and the doors and fronts are all straight grain. This place has a wealth of info. thanks, Jamie

Good thing you mentioned that these were your first CABINETS, cause when I saw "first project" then saw the cabinets I was ready to call BS.. :D

Nice job. Would have looked even better with some stone on top of them rather than the lamiante, but I understand how things go sometimes...

really, there are pretty much my first project. made a few picture frames a few years ago, but never tackled anything major. I do quite a few side projects, and trade work for tools. No money changes hands. when I make the cabinet for our kitchen, I am thinking about concrete counter tops. if I botch that up too bad i"ll turn to granite. too many projects, not enough time!!! All I can say is "WOW!" Those cabinets look every bit as good as any pro job I've seen. If this is your first project, then you truely have a gift!!

Thanks again, I was thrilled with the outcome. I think I am going to need a spray booth though. The finish on these was brushed, and I had a difficult time getting things smooth.
