Awhile back there were a couple threads regarding the play in this router's spindle. Of coarse I had just purchased this model on sale from Amazon.

Recently I got around to taking it into the factory service center in Mpls after calling Milwaukee Hdqts and been told to bring it in. The rep behind the counter played with the spindle a little, compared it to the router on display and then asked if I'd like to wait for it to be fixed?

No paperwork to fill out, just entered my name and address into the computer. I had some other errands to run in the area and came back in a couple hours. My router was fixed (they added a wave washer) and they have a happy customer.

Are we talking run-out type slop here? I guess I got lucky, no problems. Is it something else that maybe I've missed? It would be just like me to notice once I'm out of warranty so I'm curious.

Thanks Rick. Now I get it. I'll check mine and post the result.

Results as promised: My unit must be new enough to have the fix. I can get no unexpected movement out of the spindle at all. Well, that's once.
