Table Mounted Milwaukee 5625 set-up question.

I have a 5625 permanently mounted in my router table. I previously had a Hitachi M12V and put an o-ring in the bottom of the collet so my matched bits could be easily set-up one after the other.

This new Milwaukee seems to have a very deep collet and one o-ring won't do the trick. Just wondering what others have done so the matched set bits can just be dropped in w/o fooling with the height adjustment for both bits.

I always adjust the height. How would you know if you O-ring was collapsed more than the last time? Why not build a gauge block jig when you first insert and cut with the bit? Cut the profile on scap and use it to adjust to the correct height.

Yes - I have a lift on this router.

With my M12V I could set-up say my cope bit adjust it then just drop in my stick cutter and not need to make any height adjustments (since my rail/stile bits are a matched set).

Mike, it seems to me that I read somewhere last year that the fellow that originally recommended using the "O" rings, (Mark, IIRC......can't remember his last name tonight...that sells all the CMT stuff) had switched from using "O"rings to some type of small hard rubber ball in the collet. I have no idea where he gets them though, (but I sure would like to find out, as I think they would work even better than the "O" rings), and especially with a deep collet.
