This one is my "threshold" between last year and this--turned on 12/31 and BLO'd on 1/1. (Yes, I was sober.):D First time turning yellowheart; fun to work with. 5/75" dia. x 2" deep. Since it was my first time with YH I kept it fairly simple.

Beautiful bowl Mark! Nice detail work on the inside of the rim! How were you able to finish sand the inside and not lose any of the rim detail?

I would love to give some kind of profound answer about how I carefully sanded right up to the rim and stopped about .0001 short of it. The truth is, the bottom-most edge was originally the next-to-the-bottom-most edge. Yellowheart versus 80 grit.....my money's on the 80 grit every time.:p ;)

Just a question....how thick is it? From this angle, it looks like it is reeeeeal thin at the top, thin at the bottom, and thick on the sides.....just from this angle.....clarifaction please?:)

Joash,
The walls are a fairly consistent 3/16" top to bottom, except for where the outside profile takes a downward turn at the foot.

Hey, I like that... you did a great job on it. The form is simple, but not too simple. It is just right, if you know what I mean. The beaded accent is really nice.

You did a good job of letting the grain speak for the piece!!!

Mark, very cool. The rim detail adds to the great form of the piece. Awesome! :D
