This lil' fella was fun to turn. It was my first successful end-grain HF. About 2.75" dia. by 3.25" tall; walls just under 1/8". BLO'd. I used my texturing tool and wire burner for the accent. The opening is a little bigger than I would have liked, but the Midi Hollowmaster seemed to have too much mass to it to allow for a much smaller opening. Kinda squatty, but maybe not too awful for a first.

Thanks for looking.

Looks pretty sweet to me, Mark! Agreed about the opening size, but it's still a dandy! I like the texturing.

Nice little vase Mark! At first glance I thought it was a segmented turning - the texturing really stands out. Nice work!

I think you did a great job on this, Mark, and the form is somewhat a classic vase type. Nice!

I think it's great Mark! Nope, not too squatty. Looks like the top and bottom are the right proportions for that "minimum ratio" thing.:) (I even took your pic and embedded it in a CAD program then measured it, because I don't trust my eyes, and because I have too much time on my hands.)

Mark, this is terrible!!! you need to send it to me quickly and I'll put it in a glass cabnet to display it. It will demonstrate how never to turn a vase. I'll keep it there for twenty years or so that way I will never forget what not to do.   Make sure you don't sign it that way no one will ever know it was yours.

My wife always tells me that size matters...
even in turning-- the bigger the better, But like most guys I think she's crazy... and this HF proves it ---
