Curly Walnut/Spalted Box W/PICS

Hi to all,
This is a small box made of Curly Walnut and Spalted ??(yard wood). It has three recesses for lifting the lid. Finish is several coats of lacquer. One of my wife's favorites so far. Have a great week-end.

Thanks for the comments Todd. No, I don't think this is a keeper. It's probably going to someone in the NC mountains come next February. By the way I sure enjoy viewing your work. I'm still in the learning stage.

That's gorgeous, Chris! Beautiful woods and great execution. I really like the recessed features. Makes it very unique. I've always been a sucker for the spalted woods, as well, so that piece is right up there on my appreciation scale! Keep up the nice work. :cool:

Very nice work Chris. The Walnut and Spalted wood look like they "Just belong together", which really adds to this box. Sure is pretty to look at...........and I am sure whoever the lucky recipient of this beauty is will treasure it. Thanks for sharing your work.............I am a sucker for small boxes! :D
