Am not able to bring blade to zero degrees (perpendicular to table top). The trunion moves to its stop (when lock nut and bolt are all the way in), but the blade is not at zero. The 45 degree stop is about an inch out so there is plenty of room for adjustment.

Have thoroughly cleaned and lubricated all parts.

I sure would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Take the bolt to a bench grinder and take a little off the top - or - used a thinner cinch nut. Be sure to cinch the jam nut tight when making the final adjustment.

If this is a new saw, SEND IT BACK!

The saw was purchased in 1988. I have taken the lock nut off and screwed the bolt all the way in. The trunion stops before it hits the bolt, but it stops at a position further in than it would if the lock nut were there.

Thanks.

I was having a similiar problem associated with my 45 degree stop. Quite by accident I noticed that when tilting toward 45 degrees the top of the U shaped dust chute was contacting the underside of the table. The chute was also contacting the table when approaching the 90 degree. A little grinding solved the problem.
