I have had my Universal laser now for about a year and a half and the other night it was like it was skipping and started the laser and when it was doing the etching on the text it started out alright but about half way throught it skipped about and inch on me and then the rest of the text was etched.
Any ideas of what might be wrong. Would it be the belt loosening up and how can I tighten it.

Thanks

James, when you say it skipped about an inch, was that it skipped to the left or right, or did the head come towards the front about an inch?

James,

UN plug and re plug the Flex cable on the X axis. This is the thin cable located on the right hand side of the system that connects the X axis arm to the flex board on the can.

Make sure you do not have a bad contact with this connection.

PS It is not the belt tension!

I had the same problem with my VL-200 on two different PCs!

I removed all antivirus and spyware software!

Mostly yes!

One or two times it comes back, but: These are old files created _before_ removing the software. I think some of the bugs are saved in the *.CDR files.

With new created files i have no more problems. Knocking on wood...
