Just got back from xmas vacation, spent a few days playing with the new lathe, what a difference variable speed makes, just a twist of the knob is all it takes, didn`t change the belt all week. It came well packed, only took 1 hour to put it together by myself, fit and finish is good, head and tailstock line up very good. here are a few pics of a few angles that i was curious about before i decided on it, hope it helps a few others.

the outboard end is threaded, don`t know what size it is yet, the micrometer said .742 inchs to the outside of the threads.

Wow! Now, did you say that the lathe is in Canada and you are stuck on an island?
