Here is a Carob bowl that I just finished. It is probably about 10 inches diameter and finished with Watco Danish oil.

Sorry about the bad picture. AS always comments and critiques are appreciated.

Actually semi interesting story I cut the blank a little off center on the log on purpose. When I rough turned it I had it where there was some bark only on one side of the blank. Unfortunately I had to take off more than I wanted when I re-turned it so all that is left of the bark is a little brown spot on one side.

Sorry Mike, you have to send to me to fix the brown spot....:D other wise it looks good inspite of the pic quality. re-orienting the grain turned out very well , nice job!

Looks good Mike, that piece does have some nice color to it. Did you burn your sig on it? I guess my only critique (and take it for what its worth) would be to make the bottom slightly smaller to accentuate the change of curve at the foot. Of course that could just be personal taste too.

Mike........I like the form...especially the subtle taper towards the foot of the bowl. I've turned a couple of small pieces of carob. They turned well in the spindle/endgrain direction. How did this turn in the cross grain/ bowl orientation?

Very nice bowl!

Thanks everyone.

Ken- The Carob turned great besides that it had almost no movement when drying. Definiately a pleasure to work with.
