Hello,

Does anyone have experience with the 735. I bought it new about 6 months ago. I passed about 25 b.f. of quarter sawn white oak through it and about the same amount of mahogany. Thats all it has had through it. Now the feed does not work when planing in the rough cut mode. Any ideas, or should it go back to Dewalt.

Thanks,
Ed

Yep, I think it needs to go back to DeWalt. Same thing happened to me, except it wouldn't feed at either speed. They had a weak link in the drive system design that broke a lot. They've recently redesigned it, and the improved design is supposed to solve the issue.

Send it back under warranty. Woodworker's Supply replaced mine with a new one, because it was within 90 days. I sold it to a friend. It's still working fine today (about a year later).

Hi Ed, I have the 735 and have used it quit a bit on reclaimed material. See my post http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=48721&highlight=dewalt (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=48721&highlight=dewalt) for cleaning details.

Also see the post about recalls on some serial #s http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=32024&highlight=dewalt (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=32024&highlight=dewalt)

Good luck
