I've never had much occasion to gloat before but today I can't resist. My friend decided to convert his workshop into a one chair dental office (he wants to semi-retire and work a few days a week). He asked me if I could use about 1000 bf of lumber, a bandsaw, a shaper and a big belt sander. It didn't take me long to rent a truck and hustle over there!

The wood is mostly cherry and there is quite a bit of figured beech, spalted birch and aromatic cedar. Also some junk but it's not like I was in a position to be picky! The price was right.
Happy New Year!

Chris,
I'm in Kincardine Ontario. I worked in Pickering for about a year in 2000, but am back on the shores of a clean lake now.
Perhaps we'll cross paths some day. Right now I gotta go figure out how to work this bandsaw....
Cheers

Bandsaw looks like a nice old Rockwell.... Nice cast motor, looks to be in good shape. Nice score.

Congratulations, Hans.
Both on the great gloat, and on your living location. It's been years since I've been up to Kincardine.
Looks like a great bandsaw, and that Cherry will keep you busy for a long time to come!

I'm glad your dentist friend quit using those tools in his practice. LOL
Nice gloat.
