Holiday Reading

For your enjoyment I placed bunch of new articles on www.wkFineTools.com (http://www.wkfinetools.com/)

There is compiled article from Mark Singer on building Teak Sofa:

http://www.wkfinetools.com/contrib/mSinger/teakSofa/teakSofa1.asp (http://www.wkfinetools.com/contrib/mSinger/teakSofa/teakSofa1.asp)

New articles from Derek Cohen, Chris Schwarz, article on Replicating Seaton Chest by David Nelson, tutorial from James Thompson on Rebuilding Handles on Perfect Tools and more.
I also created a new section – Top Downloads, with a lot of PDF files of old woodworking books, blacksmithing, etc.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

James Thompson has an excellent article on the restoration of an ice box. I've got one that I restored many years ago, but not as nice as the one he refinished.

Hi Don,

Thanks for feedback. James has done really good work on restoration of that ice box. Here is one of the pics from that article.

Also a link:

James is my most senior contributor. When I started this magazine I had no idea about reaction I will get from people when I ask to post some of their work. I was frequent participant in the OldTools list and asked James if he would be interested in posting some of his email and picture on the startup magazine. His response was quite enthusiastic and the first post came from him. Hi is one of these guys that do not afraid to take a risk. Since then others joined in: Ray Griggs, Scot Grandstaff, Derek Cohen and many others. It is great adventure for me as well to keep this magazine going.

Anyway, James has very nice articles there on restoring tools and I always enjoy having new material from him. Actually, I have one more new article from him that I need to post. He is sharing his experience on building storage box for Stanley #55. I will try to put it up this weekend.

My wife and I restored an ice box before we were married, which we still have but it doesn't look that good, it looks good but not that good.

Well, I worked on the 55 box and the link to this article is here:

I wonder if anybody has an original drawing or photo of the Box for 55?

My latest piece is intended to incite others to copy during the holidays or, at least, create their own. What is it? Just follow this link ..

Hey... looks like Derek was here.

This is very interesting project. Here is a thought:

If anyone will follow this example I would be glad to post it in the magazine.
