I took your advice and made a mdf honing jig. I had two 12 " mdf pottery bats laying around so I attached them to my beal bowl buff attachment with a 3/8 bolt and a couple of washers. I loaded it up with honing compound and it works like a champ. Picks are below along with a gloat of a 3 sided Turn Ready Quick change tool. I emailed Stacey Hager after reading his article in the AAW and he recommended Wood Turner Tools so that is the route I took. It is pricey but a wonderful set of tools. I bought all three sizes.
