Been looking a bowl turning set and have a question. I noticed each set has two bowl gouges but have different types of scrapers. So which type of scraper is best? One is sorby the other PSI (PSI has just the tool showing not the handle)

I really like that #2 scraper in pic #1. That's how I configured my ugly stick and it has proven to be invaluable for reaching under the shoulder of vases. I like it muchly.:)

The PSI set is more in my price range at $69 but that Sorby set was on sale about 3 weeks ago for $89 (now $116.00) I guess that was a real good price and should have jumped on it. But then again I want to get the scrapers that will fit my needs the best

IMO the set on the right side would be best for bowls!

I also like the set on the right for bowls.

I would suggest any of the three round scrapers shown and a good 1/2" bowl gouge, but not necessarily in a set. Seems to me that when you try to get what you want in a set you have to compromise on one tool or the other. About anyone that has bought tools as a set has a couple of dust collectors that they never use. DAMHIKT.
