Couple burned rim Cherrys

More playing with the McNaughton coring rig. The large bowl is 13 1/2" diameter by 4" deep, small one is 10" by 3". Both rims burned with my branding tool, buffed Antique oil finish.

Coring is wonderful...I was really thinking about it the past few days, as I was moving a lot of turning stock to the upstairs of my shop as part of my current clean-up and re-arrangement to get ready for a new tool. I have a number of really nice chunks of burl and other material that would be really sinful to totally turn into shavings for single turnings. Coring would be good for a reasonable percentage of it to preserve "the good stuff". I guess I need to start saving for the necessary gear... :rolleyes:
