I found these plans for a skeleton clock a year or so ago. They are free to download. He also makes them available in PDF files for those who want to print them, glue the paper to wood, and cut by hand.

My CNC work is almost all metal and the largest gear on this plan set is about 8" which is about my limit. I also had to re-engineer much of it as I want mechanical connections for everything - not glue. It's a tremendously rewarding project. I do some work on it now and then and about 1/2 way through. You will see a lot of machine screws being used on my clock that are not part of the original design. My clock is here:

Thanks for the links David, muchly appreciated. This is something I'd like to try on my laser sometime.

Got any pictures of your work so far? Always interested to see things like this!

Cheers,

Hi David;
Outstanding work-very well done. I appreciate the amount of time you must have put into this-each piece is itself a project and the fitting of the parts to gether so it works smoothly is a major effort.
I have used one of Gary's earlier clock plans to produce wood gears with the laser-not near the work you have done, but a lot of fun. Here's the results for a non-working half scale model.
Best regards;
George
