Well in one of my classes at school (computer integrated manufacturing, CIM) we had to make a jewelry box, with a design on top, so heres mine. we had the choice of either doing it out of this weird blue plastic stuff or oak. I did it out of black walnut :D :D i brought in my own wood.... ha ha... the tech teacher is really cool and nice (young too, had his 30th this year)

so yup heres my box, took 2 1/2 hours for the mill to cut the design on the top... oh yeah its 3*2*1 1/2 what do ya think??

Ken, nicely done.
Was this done out of one big block of walnut? CNC Router?
I love to laser wood. I have been looking into buying a CNC Router, but that will have to wait until later.

technically its called a CNC mill.... I dont remember the exact name... um I donno the difference between a mill and a router... is there any?? maybe i can get a pic of the mill i used for ya once breaks over... yes out of one block of walnut. the 2 pockets were on the opposite faces of one block, cut in half, and then cleaned up top and bottom then put on the design.

Hi gang;
For some starnge reason I can't view the picture in the first post of this thread. I'm also having this problem viewing on other forums and have tries both Firefox and IE browsers with no difference. I can view other pics posted in other threads on this forum- such as the leather engraving post- . Is there a setting messed up somewhere? Appreciate any help.
Best regards;

George, if you have something like Norton Internet Security, or a popup or ad blocker, or any similar program, try temporarilly turning it off to see if that makes a difference. Sometimes those programs prevent images from showing up.
