Found this on another forum, and thought I'd share it here.

Wow! That's almost half of what others are selling it for.

Sure this is a Unisaw? It says "cabinet saw" which a Unisaw certainly is but it does NOT say Unisaw.

This link specifically calls it a Unisaw.

Sure does look like one though and further down the page they do provide a link to the Right Tilt Unisaw that takes you to the 830A page. Probably is but there is certainly some ambiguity.

Despite the fact that I own a Unisaw, I will admit that I don't know much about the various models.

Larry's point is good. As far as I know, Delta has a lower priced line that "looks" like the Uni, but is not a Unisaw.

If you go to another retailer - I used woodworker.com - and paste in the model number, 36-830A, it comes up as $1699 for a 3HP RT 30" UNIFENCE UNISAW PKG.

Also, if you enlarge the image on Amazon, you see it says Unisaw.

If you go to Delta's website and cross-reference the model number show on the Amazon page it is indeed a genuwhine unisaw, not the low-priced spread...

WOW ...that's an awesome deal. ....Just don't have the money right now. :(

this looks VERY MUCH above board. I would not hesitate if I was looking for a RT tilt UNI and had the funds...... (the check out process also tells you it's normally priced MUCH higher)

Another couple of good deals on what they are calling their end of year clearance...

That is one heck of a deal there. If it were left tilt I'd cancel the order on my Grizzly g0478 and go with that in a heartbeat. I just prefer the left tilt better.

Gary, the saw at Amazon the 36-830A is a Unisaw. See this link at the Delta website. http://www.deltamachinery.com/index.asp?e=136&p=4727

Click on the BUY NOW link on the Delta page and choose Amazon as the supplier.

Thanks for the clarification on the model, folks. Indeed a very nice deal on a UniSaw.

Not sure, but I thought the X5 version was the one that was equivalent in substantialness to the older Unisaws.

I read on another web site that they had a limited quantity and have sold out.

Several weeks ago I purchased a 36-800 Uni w/30" Bies fence for $1350 (floor model). I thought that was a pretty good deal, until today. But......I'd rather have the Bies fence.

I went to the Amazon site a few minutes ago and the sale no longer shows up. It was there an hour ago.
Guess I spent too much time thinking about it.

If you missed it or waited to long, the price shot back up. It's now $1,893.50 with free shipping. That's $1,000 more than this mornings price. :(

Given all the excellent reviews you have posted over time, I could certainly entertain that in if you can handle my kids' table manners... :o

If your kids have good table manners, it could be awkward...otherwise I'll fit right in! :p :D

I saw after lunch that it was back up to the $1893 price. I thought I'd take a chance and call to see if I could sneak one in at the $899. I figured I had nothing to lose. Unfortunately, they said no. Now I'm kicking myself for removing it from the cart... should have done it while I had the chance. That's what I get for considering the thoughts and feelings of those I love. Damn wedding vows!:p

To put your mind at ease, Amazon never honors mistakes in pricing even if you get the order placed and accepted. They will wait several weeks then send you an email canceling it or offering it at the corrected price.

I question these "mistakes". It happens way too much and seems to happen when something gets a lot of traffic. I call it bad business, whatever it is.

I was going to get a Christmas gift for my wife from them until they pulled that BS. I was trying to research the product and after revisiting the site several times in a couple days it suddenly shot way up in price. No thanks.

Well, I was too chicken to order this morning, even though my wife said go for it. I was afraid what it would really cost me in the long run everytime she reminded me of it!:o Got a question though, is right tilt a good thing or bad? Is it just personal preference or what?

Jim Becker
12-22-2006, 9:39 PM
Personal preference, Paul. If you are used to one, go for that, or change if you feel a reason to do so. For some operations, LT can be safer and more effective and for others, RT is better.

IMO Left tilt is the way to go. However, I would not pass up a deal like that just because it is right tilt.

A buyer for Amazon Tool Crib posts on another forum. Per his post this is the details of this deal :
"all,
to answer-- these are unisaws and they are made in the US
Rob had some units he bargained with Delta for (kind of a net down thing). Extremely limited quantities. He did not mean to go with free freight on this unit because he discounted it so much. He is out of units now. I wich we had hundreds of things like this (and we are trying for them). I am going to try and convince rob to join the forum and have him post upcoming things like this so you can take advantage of these, and ask him these questions direct. "

Sounds like those of you on top of this deal got a great deal!

Well,I said I would let you know when my uni arrived. I unloaded the 5 packages about 30 minutes ago.All arrived in great shape.Truck didn't have a lift gate, thank goodness for my Kubota with end loader. I don't have time to set it up until middle of next week.I have to run several more 220 outlets.I have a new 8" jointer and a used 3hp shaper, with sliding table and power feed coming next week. I am going to retire in 4 months. Now I am checking on cnc lasers.Boy,this retirement thing is sure expensive!
