I saw one of these on a turning site several days ago and thought it was worth a try. The base is Black Agate wood and the slide thru candy puller is Orange Agate. The hole for the slide was drilled and then chisiled square to fit the slide with the round knob the last to be put on. The size is 6.5 inches dia. for the base and a total of 17 inches tall . Thanks to someone for the idea.

Great idea and nice work, Jim! I'm going to have to put that on the mile long list of things to try on the lathe, first first item on the lathe is to get it fixed or get a new one (hopefully Santa comes through!).

That is a really cool piece... I have seen one other similar to that! I bet those would sell well. So is the slide piece springloaded so it closes again or is it not???? Again nice piece!
