Blade speed for re-sawing
I just got my new go514x band saw last night and it has two speeds 1700 and 3500 FPM ( 3hp) My question is what is the best speed for resawing of hard wood? (Dried) the owners manual states to use the slower speed for smooth cuts, but I thought I read that higher speed is better, I am looking for a smooth finish and I am going to be using a carbide blade for it (not sure what one yet) can I get some recommendations for the correct speed before I get it all set up …..Thanks
