I thought I'd share a couple of new turnings this evening.

Cherry Burl without foot
9" x 5"
BLO/MS/VAR finish

and

Osage NE with foot
9" x 3 1/2"
Lacquered

Comments and critiques welcome. I've been a little busy around here with the little ones, the j o b, and preparing for Christmas but I've been watching.

Raymond - very nice work! The cherry burl is absolutely beautiful!

I understand what you mean about available time being very limited during the holidays. I felt lucky these past fews days just to spend an hour putting on a final buff to some Christmas gifts. Looking forward to turning with no-interuptions !

Great stuff. That Osage really had a hard life. You are making it's hardship worthwhile.

Great job Raymond! I really like the cherry. Looks like it was a bit of a challenge to keep together.

Wow! Those are great! The burl reminds me of those science fiction drawings of alien worlds they used to do.

Mr. Ray, anyone that can turn that cherry burl deservises to be called Mr. Ray, that cherry burl is a show stopper or stem winder as we might say down here. People would cherrish it not only for the beauty of the wood, finish, and form, but for the ability it took to make it. Thanks for showing it to us.

Those are very nice, Ray. I especially like the first one with the outstanding and interesting natural edges.

Raymond, that's an outstanding job on the cherry burl. I like the osage too but the cherry burl is incredible. Way to go! Time's been at a premium for me as well in preparing for Christmas. When I started making gifts in late September I did not dream that I would be behind the eight ball just days before Christmas. I think I'll start in July next year.
