I started out making snowmen for my kid's teachers. I cut up some 2x4s and they turned out OK. I learned the technique on the 9th and 10th when Nick Cook was at our club. He did a wonderful job and was very informative. The kids wanted to paint them themselves but decided it was more than they could handle.

Part 2

I then thought I would try the angels from Eugen Schlaak's plan. http://www.woodturningonline.com/Turning/Turning_projects.html

They are a mixture of crabapple-cherry and walnut. I have to learn a new way to sand the halos. My fingertips are killin me and bloody!

I bought a brand that says "The Jordan Boys"

My dream is that the kids will love this as much as I do

Great ideas and execution too! I'm going to steal that "angel" idea. My wife is a 14 year cancer survivor Pete. She says her guardian angel was watching over her when they found it. She collects angels. I'll be turning an angel Christmas ornament tomorrow! Thanks again for the idea!

thank you for your comments!
Ken, my mother was an angel collector and before she sold her house, the christmas tree only had angel ornaments.

If your are looking for a little more challanging angel,Nick Cook had this on his website: http://www.nickcookwoodturner.com/articles.htm

Happy Holidays
