I just complete my first attempt at doing a Corian pen. It seems to be more difficult to turn than regualre wood. After a couple of blowouts (very sharp tools) , I had to go real slow to keep it intact. Part of the problem is the slim-line style especially the fact that I like the straight profile. This makes the Corian very thin on the tube. Anyone have any experience on turning Corain? Thanks.

That is a beauty for sure. Looks mighty fine to me. Nice job.

Yeah I have some corian to turn but haven't done it yet. I can see where a slimline might be troublesome. They look great!

I haven't turned a corian pen, but I would think it was easier than wood, since there is no grain. Nice thing about plastics is they need no finish, just sanded down to 2000 or so and buffed out with auto buffing compound and then wax.
I have turned acrylics for other projects, and liked the way it turned very much.
