I made my first peppermill but I think its kind of plain Jane. The blank was a little small to do a lot to it. I have a salt shaker in the works that has white corian inlayed and I will drill that for the openings. At least being pretty simple I may actually have a chance of making them look similar. I like that these mechanisms don't have a top knob, leaves a cleaner look I think.

Nicely done Kevin! Gorgeous piece of wood. Your first is better than my 4th or 5th......Very nicely done!

Kevin - nothing 'Plain Jane' about that peppermill! I like the design and the wood really stands out. Nice work!

Thanks everyone!!
I guess I see it as plain because I pictured something flashier. I suppose my utilitarian ways took over a bit and made a comfortable design. I have to admit the inlay did work as I had planned.

Nope nothing really plain about it. Simplicity has its own beauty. Nicely done! :)

Kevin,
Great looking mill. In most cases, at least IMHO, less is more. I like the ceramic mechanisms too. Opens up a lot of design possibilities. Also like the corian insert.

Show us some more.

Kevin - just as others said nothing plain about it. I like it a lot and the insert adds a nice touch. I was supposed to be learning to do those over the summer, but I ended up learning to do pens instead. Nice job!

Kevin, I also hear they make great gear shift knobs for older REO's...
Seriously they look great, the shape is perfect for that size along with the insert. :D

Plain Jane? NOT! I think it is great. I once heard from someone that simplicity is the key to beauty. I think this qualifies. Keep them coming, you did a great job.:)
