As I was poking around WC yesterday, I ran across a post by David Yoho recommending a freeware spell checker "iespell". It is for Microsoft internet explorer. I downloaded and installed it, and I think it is a great tool.

Check it out at - http://www.iespell.com/ :)

Thanks Ken,

The ieSpell Checker is a slick utility. I tend to concentrate on the subject when I am answering a post and try to catch the spelling errors after I am finished typing. Sadly I miss a few mistakes too often and since you posted the link to ieSpell Checker my errors have gone down.

I emailed them and FWIW they don't support Mac format IE and don't intend to. Oh well, you'll all have to put up with my typos:D

For those who wondered:
I'm working on integrating the (already-existing) spellchecker
into the forums. :)

Can we trust our spell checkers to give use the write, ops right spelling all of the time????

I ran both of these poems through my checkers with WORDPERFECT and WORD and they told me the only words wrong were: "chequer" and "whee" ( a lots of grammer errors though). What did you use????

When I right, ops write an article about something, I let the LOML proof read my stuff (she has been a legal sectretary for the last 35 years and the publisher for our radio clubs newsletter) and she says my spelling and grammer is attrocious, what ever that means. HI HI HI HI

Hav a goot day!!!!! HI HI HI

PS: she didn't proof this!!!!! So if this ain't write, there's 26 letters that you have the option to change ore ad two. Arn't we glad we ain't Chineese?????

Spell checkers are only as good as the database
behind them--

chequer: transitive verb (also a noun variant of checker)
1. To mark squares or draw crossed lines on, chiefly
british.
2. To variegate with different colors, shades or patterns.
(Syn. checker)

whee: interjection
1. Used to express extreme pleasure or enthusiasm.

Respectfully,

_Aaron_ :)
