I know, more pens and slimlines at that. The material is what makes them special ......

About 50 years ago, a small 4x4 mule deer buck fell to one of my Grandpa's arrows. The rack hung in various places as we moved around over the years. The weather finally took its toll on the rack, and it simply fell apart. My dad gave it to me and asked if there was anything I could make out of it..... The resulting slimlines are my attempt. There are 3 as my dad wants one, and also will give one to each of his surviving brothers. This stuff was as hard as anything I've ever turned......it makes Osage Orange feel "soft"!!!

While not anything impressive, I wanted to share anyway....

I think they're pretty nice Barry. It's great that you can revive something and make it last for the next generation. Well done.:)

Really good looking pens Barry! They will make wonderful gifts for your Dad and Uncles. Best thing about it is when they show off their pen they will have a great story to go along with it! You should be proud that you will be adding to the family history!

Very nice pens and idea! Not everyone can turn and give pens with a story already in them.

Those are the best pens a person can turn. They will be treasured and passed on to the next generation.

Thanks for sharing.

Great pens Barry and a great story. You need to write it down so you can pass it on.
