Here's my favorite piece thus far. From a load of box elder I acquired answering a craigslist ad (before I even bought my lathe). Most of it's pretty plain stuff, but I got lucky with this being the first piece I roughed from it.
5" diameter X 2.75" tall. Minwax wipe on gloss poly and Beall buffed. (Still need to redo the very bottom to lose the sanding marks...)
Thanks for looking.

Well done Pat! I really enjoy turning box elder. The small amount that I've turned you really don't know what coloration you'll see until you get there. On a couple of box elder projects when I got to the pretty coloration....I let that decide the design shape........

Nice bowl....I strained and I couldn't see those sanding marks!

That's real nice Pat. I've been meaning to try one on a pedestal... afraid it would lean though.

Wow Pat - very impressive! Considering you turned your first bowl back in October I have to comment on how much your style has developed!

Very nice thin form, lots of color in that wood and you have a really good looking finish. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Keep up the good work!
