To day was the last training day of the year. Naturally those present not only wanted to learn some turning but where dreaming of turning something which could have been a Xmas present. The beginners where able to learn how to turn a fruit… small ones … Now they will be bottle stoppers found in some Xmas presents

D’autres plus avancés ont voulu essayer et continuer avec le désaxé. Le corps de cette chouette a été désaxé trois fois.
Others, already turners, wanted to try something new. So we went on turning pieced not in line with the lathe. We did facetted turning. The body of this owl, has three sides. In fact they turned three time the same piece of wood changing every time the points of clamping (with the piece of wood still in line with the two lathe live and steady centres.

I realized that the body of the owl does not show ell it's triangular.
I'm afraid the following pic does not show it either, does it?

Very nice pieces for a class. Love the owl. Will have to try one, but I don't think mine will turn out that well.
