Once again, thanks to all who have provided input (is this forum great or what?).
I have found my hardwood supplier and the selection is a bit overwhelming (I almost think I was better off just having oak available) but I narrowed it down to alder (WOW $$$$$), ash, beech or birch.
What is the expert concensus on how each is to work with and most importantly, how challanging each is to finish? Thanks.
